Conditions of Use

Torberry Battery Warranty Policy

All batteries supplied by Torberry should last for at least 300 charge/discharge cycles; possibly double that if cared for properly. They are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 12 months from date of purchase. However it is your responsibility to look after the battery as it’s performance and condition can be reduced dramatically if abused. The three simple rules below, which apply to all lead acid batteries, must be observed to preserve the performance of your battery:

1. Your battery must not be left discharged. Storing your battery whilst discharged will damage it so it is important that it’s placed on charge as quickly as possible after each use and not left for more than 2 to 3 days in a discharged condition. If you are going to store your battery, for example over the winter season, it must be stored fully charged and given a 24hr ‘top-up’ charge every 90 days.

2. Do not run your battery completely flat. Running it completely flat will damage your battery. The more charge you can leave in your battery at the end of each use, the longer it will last. When you are aware your battery is becoming flat turn off your equipment and recharge it as soon as possible. Do not keep using it until there is no charge left! Apart from damaging your battery the basic cheaper chargers supplied with many golf trolleys may not be able to charge a battery from completely flat. Buying a heavy duty battery with a larger capacity is a good idea as it will have more charge left in it at the end of use and therefore will last much longer.

3. Charge your battery properly. Your battery charger should be designed to safely charge your battery over a long period. A 3 to 4 hour charge is not enough to properly charge it. Your battery should be charged for at least 16 hours but can be left charging constantly.

We are only able to guarantee batteries against faulty manufacture. Poor performance or faults caused by misuse or abuse (i.e. ignoring the above rules) will not be covered. Every battery returned to us under guarantee is tested using specialist equipment to diagnose any faults. If the results show the battery has not been cared for properly a replacement cannot be offered. In all other instances a replacement battery will be supplied with a next day courier service. In some instances a basic cheaper charger may not be capable of recharging a completely flat battery but it may well be revitalised by our more advanced cyclic charging process. In these instances batteries will be recharged free of charge and returned in good condition if postage costs are covered.

These batteries are manufactured by the world’s largest battery manufacturer, and are superior in capacity and quality to most other brands. If looked after properly they will give extremely good service.

If you think your battery may be faulty please try putting it on charge continuously for 36 hours to ‘revive’ your battery. If after trying this you still think your battery may be faulty please return it to:
